2009-10-07 v14 release. Fixed alarm and maybe SMS incoming bug.

Download dfu-util and copy to /usr/bin (if you are windows user then you need to download dfu-util.exe and copy to x:/windows).  Now download kernel and rootFS . Plug your FreeRunner into a USB port and boot it into the nand boot loader, hold down the aux button and then the power button until nor appears. The FreeRunner will only stay in in the nand boot loader state installer for about 30 seconds with no activity. You have 30 sec to start flashing kernel or rootFS .

    flash kernel

    dfu-util -a kernel -R -D uImage-v14.bin

    and then rootFS

    dfu-util -a rootfs -R -D qtmoko-debian-v14.jffs2

After finishing the installation  you have to start the freerunner and calibrate the touch screen.

    First boot can hang up.

Either power off (hold power for 10s) or ssh to neo and do /etc/init.d/qpe.sh restart

You should have FAT as first partition and swap on /dev/mmcblk0p4.

    Can be changed in /etc/fstab

Loading a new build is going to mean clearing everything from both your SD card and your telephone’s memory – including the boot-loader. Backup any personal files or modified config files you want to keep from your Freerunner now! Everything else (kernel, file system and boot-loader) can be restored by flashing if required. For Android to work properly the Micro SD Card in your FreeRunner needs to have 2 primary partitions. The first needs to be a VFAT/MS-DOS (16 or 32) partition which is used is mounted as ‘/sdcard’, this is used as a storage area (for pictures, movies, music, etc). The second is an ext3 partition which Android mounts as ‘/data’, this is where it stores settings, caches, etc. Experience has shown that sizing these at a ratio of 3 to 1 works best. So if you have a 4GB card make a 3GB vfat partition and a 1GB ext3 partition.

    Download

Unpack the files on to a FAT formatted SD card.

Insert card into the Freerunner, and boot from NOR menu (hold AUX key, then power)

Choose Boot from SD Card (FAT and ext2)

The automated install process should begin. It installs the Qi boot-loader, reboots, the kernel, reboots, then installs the system image.
